Putin signed a law on monitoring the turnover of labeled goods

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law on the creation of a state information system that allows to track the movement of goods subject to mandatory labeling. According to the document the system should be created and implemented from January 1, 2019. The state information system provides monitoring the movement of goods from the manufacturer to the final consumer using control (identification) marks. This system is an integral part of the process of mandatory labeling of goods, allowing for transparency and traceability of trade.

The introduction of mandatory labeling of goods, by means of identification, is intended to ensure the protection of state interests, the legitimate interests of business entities and the observance of consumer rights, as also as to prevent the spread of counterfeit and falsified products in the Russian Federation.
