Shoes will be marked in the EAEU
The ECE Council, held in Cholpon-Ata, in accordance with the Agreement on the labeling of goods by means of identification in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), decided to introduce shoe marking by means of identification.
The introduction of marking will not create additional obstacles to the free movement of goods in the Union. On the contrary, business interests related to the possible introduction of additional requirements for the activities of business entities at the national level should be taken into account as much as possible.
A key aspect of the decision is the possibility of introducing labeling in the Union according to uniform technical rules and standards, with the possibility for member states to connect to the EAEU labeling system as they become technologically, organizationally and legally ready.
To ensure unhindered circulation of marked shoes by means of identification, the countries of the Union will have to identify national operators by March 1, 2020.
National operators provide an exchange of information on tagged shoes implemented as part of cross-border mutual trade. nteraction between national operators is carried out through the integrated information system of the Eurasian Economic Union.
