At Thursday’s Cabinet meeting, the government made a decision to apply a temporary ban on the export of a number of goods from Armenia. In particular, the export of unprocessed skin of cattle or equine animals, sheep, and lambs has been banned for six months.
In the explanation of this decision, it is stated that this decision is due to the need to limit the export of raw leather, which is important for Armenia, to protect local manufacture and to provide a raw material base, as well as to promote the activities of the processing industry of Armenia.
As per the aforesaid explanation, the provision of local raw materials has enabled Armenia’s companies to increase their production and almost completely sell local raw materials.
