Germany posted a foreign trade surplus of €16 billion ($17.4 billion) in February, according to official data released on Tuesday.
The figure was €16 billion in January and had been €10.7 billion in February 2022, said the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).
Germany’s exports increased by 7.6% year-on-year to €136.7 billion in February and imports by 3.8% to €120.7 billion.
Most German exports in February went to the US with €14 billion, while the largest amount of imports came from China with €13.6 billion.
Germany’s shipments to Russia dove 59.9% from a year ago to €900 million in February.
Imports from Russia amounted to €300 million, according to Destatis data.
