The overall external trade in the Republic of Serbia for the period January-September 2024 amounted to:
– USD 54858.5 million – which was an increase of 3.9% compared to the same period last year;
– EUR 50489.0 million – which was an increase of 3.6% compared to the same period last year.
The value of exports amounted to USD 23715.4 million, which was 1.7% increase when compared to the same period last year, while the value of imports amounted to USD 31143.1 million, which was 5.6% increase relative to the same period last year.
Expressed in Euros, the value of exports amounted to EUR 21826.3 million, which was 1.4% increase, compared to the same period last year. The value of imports amounted to EUR 28662. 7 million, which was 5.3% increase when compared to the same period last year.
The deficit amounted to USD 7427.7 million, which was an increase of 20.4% in relation to the same period last year. The deficit expressed in Euros amounted to 6836.4 million, which was an increase of 20.2% compared to the same period last year.
The export – import ratio equalled 76.1% and was lower if compared to the same period last year when it was 79.1%.
The external trade in the reference period noted the highest level with the counties with which we have signed agreements on free trade. European Union member countries account for 58.7% of total external trade.
Our second major partner refers to the CEFTA countries, since our gained surplus in external trade amounted to USD 2329.5 million, resulting from the exports of cereals and produces thereof, beverages, oil and oil derivatives, electricity and road vehicles. Our exports in the referent period amounted to USD 3624.7 million, while the imports were USD 1295.2 million. The export– import ratio equalled 279.9 %. Expressed in EUR, exports amounted to 3335.5 and imports to 1191.2 million (surplus amounted to EUR 2144.3 million and export – import ratio equalled 280.0%).
