Greece and Serbia reaffirmed their commitment to deepen economic and trade relations during the “Greece–Serbia Business Forum and B2B Meetings” held on Tuesday in Athens.

The event was organized by the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EVEA), the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV), Enterprise Greece, and the Greek Exporters’ Association (SEVE), in collaboration with Serbian and European partners, hosting around 100 business meetings between Greek and Serbian companies.

Sofia Kounenaki Efraimoglou, EVEA’s first vice president, acknowledged the growing trade ties between the two nations, adding that Greek exports to Serbia exceeded €400 million in 2024, with imports nearing €390 million. She also noted that opportunities for bilateral trade relations in sectors such as AI, energy, tourism, logistics and pharmaceuticals are crucial.

Enterprise Greece CEO Marinos Giannopoulos said that the forum is a platform for strategic partnerships, with SEV’s Vicky Makrygianni adding that the two nations have significant potential to strengthen their cooperation in green energy, tourism and technology. SEVE’s Panagiotis Hasapis said that bilateral trade reached €828.5 million, with rising trends in sectors such as aluminum, food, plastics and machinery, displaying the potential for Greece and Serbia to be strategic partners.

Greek Foreign Ministry official and Ambassador Dimitris Karampalis added that Athens supports Serbia’s EU path and wants extended collaboration in infrastructure, digitalization and health sciences.
