The total export of services in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector amounted to 2.306 billion euros from January to July, representing a 20 percent increase compared to the same period last year, according to the National Bank of Serbia.
In July 2024, ICT service exports totaled 362 million euros, which is 29 percent higher than in July 2023, announced the Office for Information Technology and eGovernment, as reported by Tanjug.
The surplus in ICT services for the first seven months of 2024 amounted to 1.787 billion euros.
Mihailo Jovanović, the Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment, emphasized that they, together with the Government of Serbia, continue to support the country’s economy, talents, and experts, as well as the intensive development of ICT services.
In the last seven years, the information and communication technology sector (ICT) has become one of the three key driving forces behind the development of the Serbian economy. In 2023, alone the ICT sector’s export grew by 41%.
