“This year, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Ukraine is expected to exceed USD 500 million,” said Gennadiy Chyzhykov, the President of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in an interview with APA-Economics.
According to him, with the start of the war between Russia and Ukraine, Ukraine’s trade turnover with Azerbaijan, which was more than 1 billion dollars at the time, has decreased significantly. However, the situation is gradually stabilizing and a positive tendency has emerged.
“We hope that according to the results of this year, the level of trade turnover between Ukraine and Azerbaijan will exceed USD 500 million. If last year this figure was at the level of 471 million dollars, it has exceeded 300 million dollars in 8 months of this year alone,” Gennady Chizhikov noted.
It should be noted that according to the information of the State Customs Committee, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Ukraine during the 8 months of this year increased by 51% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to USD 315 million.
