Ukraine exports agricultural products in 340 trade destinations, to open another 240 in next 5 years – state service

Ukraine currently has access to export its products in 340 trade destinations for agricultural products and is planning to open another 240 markets in the next five years, Ukrainian media outlets said with a reference Ukrainian State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection Director Sergei Tkachuk’s statement at the Kiev International Economic Forum.

“We are one of the key state [services] in charge for the processes of opening new markets, we are working with more than 60 countries on [exporting] plant and animal products. Our plans include opening 240 new markets within five years. Simultaneously, our country is integrating in the EU. And if we look at the Chapter 12 on food security and veterinary and phytosanitary policy [of legislation on the EU enlargement], it alone makes up 19% of the requirements Ukraine is facing overall,” Tkachuk said.
