Ukraine’s foreign trade deficit in goods increased 55.6% to $2.34 billion in January 2025 from $1.5 billion in January 2024, Ukrainian media said, citing the State Statistics Service.
Exports of goods from Ukraine dropped 11.5% year-on-year to $3.18 billion in January 2025, while imports rose 8.2% to $5.51 billion, the State Statistics Service said.
Ukraine’s seasonally adjusted exports declined 4.7% month-on-month to $3.11 billion in January 2025, with imports going up 3.4% to $6.21 billion, it said.
The seasonally adjusted trade deficit stood at $3.1 billion in January 2025, up from $2.74 billion recorded in December 2024.
The export-import coverage ratio in January 2025 was 0.58 (0.71 in January 2024).
Foreign trade operations were conducted with partners from 189 countries, the service said.
