Ukraine exported 173,720 tonnes of organic agricultural products to the European Union in 2023, 20.7% less than a year earlier, Ukrainian media reported Organic Ukraine as saying on Telegram.
The association attributed the drop primarily to the decrease in output of organic products because the crop area was reduced.
Nonetheless, Ukraine remained among the five largest exporters to the EU for the sixth consecutive year, the leader in supplies of grains (except wheat and rice), oil crop seeds (except soybeans), second by supplies of fruit and soybean, and third in supplies of millcake, the association said. Exports of fruit and soybean increased last year, it added.
