Ukraine’s merchandise trade deficit widened 49.1% to $14.594 billion in January-May 2025, from $9.787 billion in the same period of last year, Ukrainian media quoted the State Statistics Service as saying.
Exports fell 5.4% year-on-year to $16.947 billion, while imports rose 13.9% to $31.54 billion.
Seasonally adjusted exports rose 5.5% to $3.614 billion in May compared with April 2025 and imports grew 4.4% to $6.806 billion.
The seasonally adjusted trade deficit widened to $3.192 billion in May from $3.091 billion the previous month.
The foreign trade coverage ratio fell to 0.54 in 5M 2025, from 0.65 a year previously.
Ukraine traded with 220 countries.
