Ukrainian producers of organic food increased exports by 32.3% year-on-year to 75.340 million tonnes in the first half of 2024, Organic Standard LLC, the country’s first accredited certification body for organic production, said.
“In the first half of this year our clients raised the bar for exports of organic products compared to previous years: 2024 – 75 340 443 [tonnes], 2023 – 56 954 391 t, 2022 – 47 863 185 t, 2021 – 32 353 925 t. These figures are not just statistics. They reflect the stable growth of Ukrainian organic products on international markets,” Ukrainian media reported the company as saying on social media.
This result is thanks to the high quality of products, confirmed by certification to international standards, as well as growing demand for organic foods, Organic Standard said.
Organic Standard, founded in 2007 as part of a joint Ukrainian-Swiss project on organic certification and development of Ukraine’s organic market, inspects and certifies organic production.
