An agreement establishing a joint company in Serbia has been signed by Serbian logistics services provider Transfera and the local subsidiary of Austria’s OBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG).
According to Transfera, the development of intermodal logistics solutions will be the main aim of the new company, based in Belgrade.
Transfera CEO, Dusko Radovic, said that the future of logistics is represented by intermodal transport and the company is intended to initiate a positive change by combining common resources, knowledge and experience and to set new standards in the industry.
A RCG office was opened in Serbia in January 2023.
The construction of a 15.5 million euro ($16.8 million) intermodal terminal in the Belgrade neighbourhood of Batajnica was announced to be close to completing last week.
