Georgian external trade turnover amounted to $2.89 billion in January-February 2023, posting a 12.3 percent increase year-on-year, the Georgian National Statistics Office revealed on Monday.
The value of exports rose by 20.3 percent and equalled $914.7 million, while imports also grew by nine percent, amounting to $1.98 billion in the reporting period.
Trade deficit, a measure of the negative balance of trade in which imports exceed exports, reached $1.06 billion, and the share of trade turnover hit 36.9 percent.
