Georgian external trade at $23.43 billion in 2024, up by 8% y/y – Statistics Office

Georgia’s external trade turnover amounted to $23.43 billion in 2024, posting an eight percent year-on-year increase, with the list of top trading partners of the county topped by Turkey with $3.22 billion, Russia with $2.53 billion and the United States with $2.18 billion.

Georgia’s external trade turnover amounted to $23.43 billion in 2024, posting an eight percent year-on-year increase, with the list of top trading partners of the county topped by Turkey with $3.22 billion, Russia with $2.53 billion and the United States with $2.18 billion, the National Statistics office said on Monday.

The value of exports increased by 7.8 percent and equalled $6.56 billion, while imports also increased by 8.1 percent, amounting to $16.87 billion last year.

The list of exports was headed by Kyrgyzstan ($1.28bln), Kazakhstan ($859.9mln) and Azerbaijan ($724.5mln), while imports were topped by Turkey ($2.77bln), the US ($1.04bln) and Russia ($1.84bln).

The top export items were the following:
Motor cars – $2.42 billion (37% of total exports)
Ferro-alloys – $322.2 million (4.9%)
Spirituous beverages – $288.6 million (4.4%)
The three top import commodities included:
Motor cars – $3.46 billion (20.5% of total imports)
Petroleum and petroleum oils – $1.30 billion (7.7%)
Medical drugs packaged in doses – $622.9 million (3.7%)
In another figure of domestic exports, the body said the country had exported locally produced goods worth $6.56 billion last year, marking a 7.8 percent year-on-year increase.

The Office said the share of domestic exports in total exports constituted 45.8 percent and amounted to $3 billion – five percent higher than in 2023.
