Cargo-partner’s new transhipment point in the Netherlands provides gateway road connections across Europe

With expertise in logistics and worldwide transport, cargo-partner is pleased to introduce a new groupage hub and enhanced road transport routes from the Netherlands, ideally placed to support customers with the import and export of goods across Benelux and Europe.

cargo-partner has launched a new Transhipment Point (TSP) in Roermond in partnership with the company’s strategic groupage partner sim cargo, providing daily departures to a network of destinations across Europe.

The hub fulfils a dual function: It acts both as a handling point for consolidating outbound cargo, and as a connection point for transferring cargo from one vehicle to another while in transit to the final destination. This means cargo-partner in the Netherlands can use their Roermond base as a gateway to service all European countries, helping customers move goods efficiently and effectively via an extensive road network.

The Roermond TSP has a variety of routes, but regular departures include daily services to Willich, Porta and Frankfurt in Germany, as well as twice weekly services to Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

cargo-partner’s Managing Director in Benelux, Enzo Phillips, said: “In a year where cargo-partner celebrates its 40th anniversary, we’re delighted to be continuing to expand our local and global network and are pleased to add the new Roermond TSP to our portfolio of facilities and services.

“The TSP provides yet more cost-effective options for our customers wanting to move goods via land transport and we’re pleased to have recently been ranked third out of 28 in sim cargo’s leader board of TSP operators.”

“TSPs in a shipping journey are primarily used because of a lack of direct routes available to some final destinations, but TSPs can also allow customers to balance cost, timings and destinations, if their cargo delivery isn’t urgent.”

cargo-partner announced its offer to acquire one third of the shares in sim cargo GmbH in October 2022. The company’s road transport solutions include comprehensive groupage, part-load, full-load and express van services, with all solutions including a full customs clearance service, automated tracking and end-to-end support.
