The overall external trade in the Republic of Serbia for the period January- July 2023 amounted to:
– USD 41513.6 million – which was an increase of 0.2% compared to the same period last year;
– EUR 38314.3 million – which was an increase of 0.3% compared to the same period last year.
The value of exports amounted to USD 18279.2 million, which was 8.0% increase when compared to the same period last year, while the value of imports amounted to USD 23234.4 million, which was 5.3% decrease relative to the same period last year.
Expressed in Euros, the value of exports amounted to EUR 16873.8 million, which was 8.2% increase, compared to the same period last year. The value of imports amounted to EUR 21440.5 million, which was 5.1% decrease when compared to the same period last year.
The deficit amounted to USD 4955.2 million, which was a decrease of 34.9% in relation to the same period last year. The deficit expressed in Euros amounted to 4566.7 million, which was a decrease of 34.7% compared to the same period last year.
The export – import ratio equalled 78.7% and was higher if compared to the same period last year when it was 69.0%.
The external trade in the reference period noted the highest level with the counties with which we have signed agreements on free trade. European Union member countries account for 60.0% of total external trade.
Our second major partner refers to the CEFTA countries, since our gained surplus in external trade amounted to USD 1715.2 million, resulting mainly from the exports of electricity, cereals and produces thereof, beverages, oil and oil derivatives and road vehicles. Our exports in the referent period amounted to USD 2773.5 million, while the imports were USD 1058.3 million. The export– import ratio equalled 262.1 %. Expressed in EUR, exports amounted to 2558.6 and imports to 978.0 million (surplus amounted to EUR 1580.6 million and export – import ratio equalled 261.6%).
