Buyers from France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom have visited about 20 Georgian enterprises as part of a programme that supports establishment of export market connections and is implemented by the Enterprise Georgia, the state agency promoting entrepreneurship, investment and exports.
The agency said on Monday the three-day visit saw the buyers visit textile industry, packaging material and toy enterprises, where they were introduced to their work processes and production capacities.
Tornike Zirakishvili, the Deputy Director of Enterprise Georgia, emphasised the importance of showcasing export opportunities of Georgian companies to prospective foreign partners.
It is important that they themselves visit the enterprises and see what opportunities Georgian companies have in export. The programme is implemented for the first time in this format, and we hope various agreements will be reached with Georgian companies within this visit. Our ultimate goal is to encourage more exports from Georgia”, he said.
