Georgian external trade turnover amounted to $1.46 billion in January 2023, posting a 29.1 percent increase year-on-year, the Georgian National Statistics Office revealed on Monday.
The value of exports rose by 38.5 percent and equalled $459 million, while imports also grew by 25.2 percent, amounting to $1 billion in 2023.
Trade deficit, a measure of the negative balance of trade in which imports exceed exports, reached $543.9 million, and the share of trade turnover hit 37.2 percent.
