Apart from Belgrade, Israel will also launch economic representations in Addis Ababa, Athens, Buenos Aires, and Miami next year, Israel.com reported on Monday, citing economy minister Nir Barkat.
Israel’s Haaretz newspaper reported on Monday that the economic missions will be launched mostly in countries seen as friendly to prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government and supportive of Israel during the war in Gaza. Haaretz noted that Serbia was a major supplier of ammunition to Israel during the war. According to an investigation by Haaretz and Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN), Serbia exported 55.5 million euro worth of ammunition to Israel in the first six months of 2025, exceeding the total value of arms exports to the country for all of 2024, which stood at a record-high 47.9 million euro.
The new economic representations will bring the total number of economic attaches of Israeli foreign trade administration to 60, according to Israel.com.
