Ukraine and Germany are expanding trade ties, with Berlin increasing imports of Ukrainian food products. Ukraine’s revenue from honey exports rose 15.8% year-on-year in the first half of 2026, reaching $61.65 million. The increase came despite a 27.5% decline in export volumes, which fell to 17,700 tons.
Germany remained the largest market for Ukrainian honey, accounting for 26.71% of export revenue. France ranked second with 20.31%, followed by Poland with 11.18%. Germany was also the largest buyer of Ukrainian honey in 2025, accounting for 19.8% of exports, and led the ranking of importers in 2024 as well.
At the same time, Ukraine sharply increased exports of pasta and couscous. In the 2025/2026 marketing year, exports of these products rose by about 130% compared with the previous season, reaching 29,500 tons. Germany was again the largest buyer, importing 6,400 tons, or 21.6% of Ukraine’s total exports of pasta and couscous.
Moldova ranked second with 3,000 tons, or 16.9%, followed by the United Kingdom with 2,700 tons, or 9%. Romania and Latvia also entered the top five, importing 2,600 tons and 2,300 tons, respectively.
The data shows that Germany is becoming an increasingly important market for Ukrainian food exporters, supporting the diversification of Ukraine’s agricultural and processed-food exports into the EU.
