Ukraine’s imports up 31% YoY in Jan-Feb 2026, exports total $6.5 bln – State Customs Service

Ukraine increased imports of goods by 31% year-on-year to $14.8 billion in money terms in January-February 2026 from $11.3 billion in the same period of 2025, Ukrainian media reported, citing a statement from Ukraine’s State Customs Service.

Exports from Ukraine stood at $6.5 billion in the first two months of 2026, versus $6.3 billion in January-February 2025, the statement said.

“Taxable imports amounted to $5.2 billion, or 78% of the total volume of imported goods. The tax burden per one kilogram of taxable imports stood at $0.54 per kilogram in January-February 2026,” it said.

The top three countries from which Ukraine imported the most goods in the reporting period were China ($4 billion), Poland ($1.4 billion), and Turkey ($1.1 billion).

In January-February 2026, Ukraine exported its goods mostly to Poland ($713 million), Turkey ($563 million), and Italy ($428 million).

The total volume of goods imported into Ukraine in January-February 2026 was dominated by the following categories: machinery, equipment and transport with $6 billion (UAH 32.9 billion was paid to the budget for customs clearance of these goods, or 26% of customs receipts), fuel and energy with $2.6 billion (UAH 49.7 billion was paid to the budget, or 39% of customs receipts), chemical industry products with $2 billion (UAH 15.9 billion was paid to the budget, or 12% of payment receipts).

The three largest exports from Ukraine in the first two months of 2062 were food ($4 billion), metals and metal products ($589 million), as well as machinery, equipment and transport ($532 million).

“In January-February 2026, UAH 318.5 million was paid to the budget during the customs clearance of exports of goods subject to export duties,” it said.
