Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said on Monday that a free trade agreement with the United Arab Emirates was in the focus of her visit to Dubai.
An Instagram post said that a draft free trade agreement would be sent to the UAE. “I expect it to be signed in the next three months and it will contribute to better economic cooperation which is not modest now but is not even close to our potential,” she wrote.
“Everything that we have done since we signed the cooperation agreement between our two governments will surely result in 2023 being far more successful than earlier years,” she added.
“The value of the goods trade between the two countries is modest and it amounts to only EUR 80 million. However, the value of trade in services is twice and a half that amount,” the PM added.
The Serbian Minister of Telecommunications and Information, Mihailo Jovanović, added that Serbia has also been working with partners from the UAE on digitization and the development of artificial intelligence and bioinformatics.
