Ukraine’s trade deficit in goods increases 6% in 2024 – Gosstat

Ukraine’s trade deficit in goods grew 6% in 2024 compared to 2023, from $27.384 billion to $29.018 billion, Ukrainian media reported, citing the State Statistics Service (Gosstat).

According to the data, Ukraine’s exports of goods increased 15.3% year-on-year in 2024 to $41.733 billion while imports rose 11.3% to $70.751 billion.

The seasonally adjusted export volume fell 5.7% month-on-month in December to $3.266 billion, while imports fell 3.4% to $5.775 billion.

The seasonally adjusted trade balance in December 2024 was negative, amounting to $2.51 billion. The balance was also negative in November 2024, at $2.514 billion.

The export-to-import coverage ratio in 2024 was 0.59, compared to 0.57 in 2023.
