Georgia has exported locally produced goods worth $2.11 billion between January-May, which is a 37.5 percent increase year-on-year, preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia show.
Geostat said local exports in the country had accounted for 75.7 percent of total exports in the reporting period, amounting to $1.59 billion, 42.7 percent higher compared to the same period of 2021.
Georgia’s top trading partners were:
China – $344.2 million
Russia – $186.7 million
Bulgaria -$183.1 million
The five largest domestic export goods of Georgia are as follows:
Copper ores and concentrates – $465.9 million (29.1 percent of total exports)
Ferro-alloys – $280.2 million (17.5 percent)
Nitrogenous fertilizers – $152.7 million (9.5 percent)
Wine from fresh grapes – $79.5 million (5 percent)
Natural or artificial mineral and carbonated waters – $41.1 million (2.6 percent)
In general, Georgian external trade turnover amounted to $6.93 billion in January-May 2022, posting a 37.4 percent increase year-on-year, said Geostat.
The exports equalled $2.11 billion (+37.5 percent y/y), while the imports stood at $4.82 billion (+37.3 percent y/y).
