Georgian external trade turnover amounted to $6.49 billion in January-April 2023, posting a 21.9 percent increase year-on-year, the Georgian National Statistics Office revealed on Monday.
The value of exports rose by 23.5 percent and equalled $1.96 billion, while imports also grew by 21.2 percent, amounting to $4.53 billion in the first four months of 2023.
Trade deficit, a measure of the negative balance of trade in which imports exceed exports, reached $2.57 billion, and the share of trade turnover hit 39.6 percent.
