Issues of customs and logistics infrastructure discussed at meeting of Operational Headquarters for anti-crisis measures

On March 08, at the regular meeting of the Operational Headquarters for Anti-Crisis Measures chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, issues in the field of customs were considered. First Vice Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Sultangaziyev reported on the measures taken to develop the customs and logistics infrastructure.

According to the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance, today the railway checkpoints Altynkol and Dostyk-Temirzhol on the border with China are operating normally.

“Currently, out of 5 road checkpoints, 4 are open and accept cargo. The Kalzhat checkpoint is currently closed by the PRC due to the epidemiological situation. The parties are agreeing on the exact dates for the resumption of the activities of Kalzhat-Dulaty,’’ the First Vice Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan said.

Government has resolved the issue of transshipment of goods inside the Nur-Zholy checkpoint from China to the Republic of Kazakhstan and the electronic queue is being streamlined. At the same time, the cost of transportation services is reduced by 2 times.
