Customs Service recommends that carriers use electronic pre-declaration system

The Customs Service recommended that carriers of goods under cover of the TIR Carnet use the TIR Electronic Pre-Declaration (TIR-EPD) system. It comes in the context of increased truck traffic on the Moldovan-Romanian border, both on the way out and on the way into the country.

Through TIR-EPD, the customs authorities have the possibility to fill in the TIR Carnet in electronic format faster, which facilitates the risk analysis before arrival and makes the crossing of borders easier, safer and faster.

At the same time, the carriers that are part of the TIR-EPD electronic pre-declaration system benefit from the priority regime of crossing the border, being subject to a reduced number of controls and formalities.

TIR-EPD is an application that allows TIR card holders to send free electronic pre-declarations to the customs authorities of different countries to be transited (itinerary, transport document (CMR), invoice, type of goods, quantity transported, registration number of the transport unit, name and surname of the driver).
