Uzbek Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov and Serbia’s minister responsible for international economic cooperation, Nenad Popovic, had online talks on 13 August 2026. The topic was expanding bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation.
According to Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, developing trade, economic and investment ties between the two countries was in the spotlight of the discussion.
The sides paid particular attention to preparations for the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation. They scheduled to hold it in Belgrade in autumn 2026.
Also, specific trade and investment initiatives were reviewed. The sides identified such areas as pharmaceuticals, agriculture, the chemical industry, mechanical engineering, textiles and transport infrastructure as promising for cooperation.
In conclusion, Uzbekistan and Serbia expressed their intension to continue joint efforts to expand bilateral trade and promote new investment and trade projects.
