Georgian external trade up 6.6% in January-November

Georgia’s external trade turnover reached $21.1 billion between January-November, reflecting a 6.6 percent increase compared to the same period last year, the National Statistics Office said on Friday.

Exports climbed by 7.9 percent to hit $6 billion, while imports rose by 6.1 percent to total $15.1 billion.

The trade deficit, a measure of the negative balance of trade in which a country’s imports exceed its exports, totalled $9.08 billion, and its share in trade turnover was observed at 43 percent, the Office said.
