Uzbekistan simplifies some customs procedures

A resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On the introduction of amendments and additions to some decisions of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the improvement of procedures in the customs sphere” was adopted.

According to Norma, the changes and additions affected such areas as:

• digitalization of the procedure for licensing the activities of a customs warehouse, a free warehouse and a duty-free shop;
• organizing the activities of a duty-free shop for foreigners temporarily staying in Uzbekistan;
• establishment of reduced customs fees for procedures of transit declaration and processing of goods in the customs territory;
• simplified declaration of international postal and courier items valued at less than 30 BCAs.

In addition, changes and additions have been made to:

• Regulations on the procedure for exporting fruits and vegetables;
• Administrative regulations for the provision of public services for licensing the activities of a customs warehouse, a free warehouse and a duty-free shop;
• Customs duty rates;
• Regulations on the procedure for organizing customs escort of goods transported by roads under customs control;
• Regulations on the procedure for carrying out cargo operations in relation to goods under customs control;
• Regulations on the procedure for customs control and registration of international postal and courier items.
